Summary: The organization of live-line working with AC 50Hz devices of different voltage levels is not covered by a systemic solution. National power engineering companies organize this work according to their own capabilities, trying to improve the quality and efficiency of distribution and transmission networks. The live-line technology was launched in the period 1973-76 by Poland’s power engineering authorities. Then the first laws how to conduct such works were passed. The issue was supported in 2013 by the decree of the Minister of Economy on occupational work and safety with respect to power engineering equipment. The article contains a review of achievements and development plans related to live-line working in power engineering networks.
