Summary: Electro heat technology is a very important part of electrical engineering and covers important issues connected with conversions of electromagnetic energy into the heat, utility of such form of energy to practical issues and control of heating processes. Additionally, important aspects of energy converters, power modules or control and measurements blocks design, allows to state a wide spectrum of electrothermal techniques. Dynamic development of electro-heat technology was observed in the period, when these techniques were implemented in industrial processes, medicine and domestic applications. In the paper the historical view and profiles of eminent scientists associated with the Department of Electroheat technology of Warsaw University of Technology were presented. Faculty of WUT Electrical Engineering was the place, where polish school of electro-heat technology was “born”. Researchers from whole country were inspired to develop such discipline in other academic centers. Both results of scientific researches and profiles of scientists of Warsaw electrothermal scientific community seems to be worth commemoration. 100th anniversary of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of Warsaw University of Technology is an excellent opportunity for this.
