Summary: The study presents considerations on engineering and technical sciences divided into: foundations, limitations and limits of science possibilities. The article was based on a paper delivered during the ceremony of awarding the title of Honorary Professor of AGH to prof. Wojciech Mitkowski, which took place on 12 February this year in the auditorium of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow. The title was awarded "for the entirety of work in the scientific, didactic, organizational and social areas for the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering, AGH University of Science and Technology and the Krakow and national scientific community".
