Summary: This article describes the life, work and achievements of Karol Franciszek Pollak – an outstanding Polish inventor, designer, electrical engineer and entrepreneur, often called the "Polish Edison". The article focuses particularly on the final period of his activity – in Poland, after Poland regained independence in 1918, as well as the promotion of his work over the last decade. The author of nearly 100 patents, who became famous for his work on the construction and use of batteries, is the Patron of the Bielsko-Biała Division of Association of Polish Electrical Engineers (SEP).
